Muhammet Usak is currently an Assistant Professor at Dumlupinar University, Kutahya, Turkey. He has been teaching since 1998 - as a science teacher (1998-2000), and a teacher-educator (2000-present). He conducts pre-service training for primary, and junior college science teachers.

He has presented and published papers in various regional, national and international conferences and journals. He is a member of editorial boards of Journal of Baltic Science Education, International Journal of Environmental & Science Education, Educational Sciences: Theory and Practice, and also he is an executive editor of Eurasia Journal of Mathematics, Science & Technology Education. He has also acted as a consultant to Ministry of National Education for the primary science curriculum development.
